Folly Field

The Folly Field Beach area is located between the Port Royal area to the north and the Singleton area to the south. This area offers accommodations ranging from "newish" six bedroom homes to one-bedroom oceanfront villas that can sleep up to six. The longstanding appeal of this neighborhood, which continues today, is the availability of large resorts on the ocean, offering terrific amenities such as great pools, kid's programs and onsite tennis. The oceanfront resorts have traditionally been very popular with guests seeking one and two bedroom accommodations. Also, the large resorts have been a popular economical choice for those seeking the fun and activities of a beautiful beach vacation on Hilton Head Island. Young families can conveniently stay in a ocean view one bedroom, one bath villa which will have a queen bed and may offer bunk beds along with a sleeper sofa; sleeping up to six.

The oceanfront home and villas offer all the grandeur of the Atlantic Ocean along with the great white sandy beach for which Hilton Head Island is known. The wide, sandy, gently sloping beach is great for walking, bicycling, playing or relaxing. A pleasant walk down the beach will bring you to the Folly. Twice a day at high tide, the ocean crosses over a small section of this beach, perhaps 200 feet wide, nourishing a beautiful salt marsh. Numerous varieties of semi- tropical birds are to be discovered here. A walk along the ocean to the north toward the Port Royal Plantation will take you into a less traveled area, which is great for shell searching. At the beginning of Folly Field Road is Adventure Cove, with two 18-hole miniature golf courses and an arcade, which the kids will love. Additionally, next to the arcade is a Carrabbas Italian Grill restaurant.
